What's included
Two great Chinese cities in nine days. Shanghai's skyline from the Bund, Yu Garden and the old bazaar, then the high-speed train north to Beijing for Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and a full day on the Great Wall.
The train between the cities, all your ground transport, the airport transfer and the Great Wall entrance are all in the price.

What you need
- Passport with at least six months' validity remaining
- Travellers under 18: unabridged birth certificate, valid passport, and an affidavit from any parent not travelling
- Recommended spending money R5,000 to R10,000 per person
- Set up WeChat Pay and Alipay before you leave — cash and foreign cards are rarely accepted
- A VPN, installed before you arrive — Google services do not work in China
- Comfortable walking shoes — the Great Wall and the Forbidden City are long days on foot

- Depart South Africa for Shanghai (Sunday).

- Arrive in Shanghai and check in at the hotel.

- Yu Garden and the Old City God Temple Bazaar.
- Tianzifang, the artsy lane district.
