Urban adventure and island bliss. Begin with Nairobi wildlife, the Giraffe Centre and a Karura Forest hike, then fly to Zanzibar for Safari Blue, Nungwi beach, a sunset dhow cruise and the cultural charm of Stone Town.
We stay near Nungwi Beach on the north coast. Zanzibar is bigger than it looks — reaching Stone Town, the caves or the east coast means road trips of one to two hours, so come prepared for some driving between the good bits.

What you need
- Passport with at least six months' validity and blank pages for stamps
- Kenya eTA — free or low cost, but mandatory before you fly
- Travellers under 18: unabridged birth certificate, valid passport, and an affidavit from any parent not travelling
- Yellow fever certificate — required for this routing through East Africa
- Recommended spending money from R5,000, plus the compulsory Zanzibar health insurance and the optional entries
- US dollars in clean notes issued after 2013. You can also withdraw Tanzanian shillings locally — some places take card, not all

How much of this you cover depends on how long the group lingers in each spot — some stops may be swapped on the day.

Departure
- Free morning, then fly back to South Africa.
★ Starred items are optional and paid locally at your own cost. We include the transport to each site — you choose which entries and tours to pay for. Travel times between areas of Zanzibar can be one to two hours, so the day's route may adjust depending on how long the group spends at each stop.
Transport. Scheduled transport is provided only for activities and locations included in the official itinerary. Transport for personal activities, optional excursions, shopping trips or restaurants outside the planned programme is not included.
Optional activities are subject to availability, supplier confirmation and price changes. The itinerary may adjust slightly for flight schedules, weather or local operating hours.
