What's included

Dunes, flamingos and the Atlantic coast. Two hours from Johannesburg, no visa, your rands work and there is no time difference — yet almost nothing about it looks like home.

Windhoek, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay in five days, with apricot dunes running straight into a cold Atlantic. Suits solo travellers, couples, families and older travellers equally — our Namibia groups are usually the most mixed of any tour we run.

Package includes

  • Return flights from OR Tambo to Windhoek
  • Accommodation (shared)
  • Daily breakfast
  • Welcome dinner, which doubles as our birthday celebration
  • Windhoek town tour
  • Cultural dinner at Hafeni
  • Ground transport to every location on the itinerary
  • Tour experience leader throughout

Not included

  • Sunset cruise — optional at extra cost
  • Sandwich Harbour excursion — optional at extra cost
  • All personal and adventure activities
  • Meals not mentioned above
  • Entrance fees where applicable
  • Travel insurance and personal expenses

What you need

  • Passport with at least six months' validity and blank pages
  • Travellers under 18: unabridged birth certificate, valid passport, and an affidavit from any parent not travelling
  • Recommended spending money from R3,000, plus a budget for the activities you want to do
  • Layers, not one thick jacket — the coast is cold morning and evening, warm by afternoon
  • No adapter needed — Namibia uses the same plugs as South Africa
