What you need
- Passport with at least six months' validity remaining
- Travellers under 18: unabridged birth certificate, valid passport, and an affidavit from any parent not travelling
- Recommended spending money from R6,000 — Thailand is excellent value once you land, and shopping in Bangkok is genuinely cheap
- Modest clothing for temple visits — shoulders and knees covered. The Grand Palace enforces this strictly and will turn you away
