What you need
- South African ID or passport — you cross into Lesotho
- Travellers under 18: unabridged birth certificate and an affidavit from any parent not travelling
- Proper warm clothing. Afriski sits above 3,000m and it is genuinely cold — thermals, gloves, beanie and a waterproof jacket
- Recommended spending money from R1,500, plus equipment hire if you plan to ski
- Sunscreen — the glare off snow at altitude catches people out
